Back to school advice for parents / carers
With the majority of children and young people being away from school for such an extended period of time, this ‘back to school’ season might feel different to normal.
While this time of year usually brings a flurry of activity, this year might feel a bit more fraught or uncertain.
There are things you can do now to make that transition back to school easier, and ease any anxieties there might be around starting school again.
Below are some ways to help ease your child / children back into the school routine.
If you have not already started, now is the time to get back into those day-to-day routines that have probably been relaxed or pushed back over the summer holidays.
Gradually bringing bedtime forward and setting the morning alarm a little earlier will mean school start times are not such a shock to the system. This might not be as much of an issue for younger children as it is with teenagers.
Establishing good term-time habits now, like making sure their clothes and bag are ready the night before, can ease you back into that school routine.
