A guide to supporting people through emotional distress is a conversational guide has also been developed to support professional and volunteers who may be contacting vulnerable people or people in states of emotional distress. It includes guidance on wording, appropriate questions to ask, how to phase your questions, things to be aware of when speaking with someone, what support can be put in place, and where to signpost to.

A mental health signposting sheet gives an overview of the mental health services that are available in Gloucestershire for both adults and young people. Please be aware, this document may be updated in the future with new services. You can also view specific mental health support under the different sections of our wellbeing pages (including for elderly residents, young people and more).
