Gloucestershire COVID-19 Local Outbreak Management Plan
Gloucestershire’s Local Outbreak Management Plan (LOMP) has been updated (March 2021). The plan details, the ways in which the county council and its partners have, and will continue to, work together to support and protect groups and setting across the county, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the local and national position changing regularly, it’s important that we review and update our plans to ensure we are doing all we can to limit the spread of infection in our community.
There are four action plans linked to the main principles which underpin the outbreak management plan. These can be viewed below:
- Prevent - also view the Gloucestershire Comms Strategy. The prevent plan outlines what actions we will take to prevent new cases of Covid-19 in the county. This includes using a variety of communications channels to get key advice and information out to our Gloucestershire residents, as well as directly to high risk groups. The plan also describes how we will support local businesses via district based Covid-19 Compliance Officers
- Contain - On Monday 19 October a six-step plan was introduced across the county. The six steps for Gloucestershire focus on protecting our most vulnerable residents, increasing enforcement action and a call to us all to work together, and for each other, by following the public health guidance put in place to keep us safe. An additional plan around how we plan to contain the spread of Coronavirus is being updated and will be made available shortly
- Monitor - This plan outlines how we will use the data we have available to us to decide what action we should take, and where, to help slow the spread of Covid-19 in the county. We will also use the data to help the public to understand the current levels of Covid in the county and what they can to keep themselves and others safe
- Respond - Our response plan sets out what we will do when responding to and managing Covid-19 incidents and outbreaks in the county. NB. this document is regularly updated as the situation in the county continues to evolve and change. We have published a recent version and will update this periodically. This may mean that this plan is not always the most up to date version, but we may be working on an operational version which will be shared when finalised
Delivery of the LOMP will be overseen by the COVID-19 Health Protection Board, Chaired By Sarah Scott, Director of Public Health, and made up of senior officers from all the responding organisations. This Board will be advised by the cross-party COVID-19 Engagement Board, which will be Chaired by Mark Hawthorne, Leader of the County Council. The prevent, contain, respond and monitor delivery plans will be overseen and driven by the Covid-19 Health Protection Board.
