Gloucestershire Day song

Submit a song that fits our amazing county for #GlosDay celebrations on 21 September.

#GlosDay is all about highlighting the county's incredible people, places, businesses and communities, and sometimes only a song can say it all.

That's why we're looking for songwriters to put everything that's great and good about the county in to a track that can do Gloucestershire justice. Whether you're a young, just-getting-started writer, or you've been doing it for years, we want to hear it all.

The track can be any length, and feature just you and a guitar or piano, a full band, or produced using computer software. Be as creative as you want!

The song must be a piece of original music. We cannot accept rewritten lyrics to an already known song or anything subject to copyright.

To submit your track:

  • Post it on social media with the hashtags #GlosDay #GlosSong; or
  • Email it to communications@gloucestershire.gov.uk with the email subject "Gloucestershire Day Song"

We'll listen to all of them and get in touch with the writer of the winning submission, which will be posted on our social media accounts on Monday September 21.

We have extended the deadline, so the last chance to submit your track is Sunday 20 September, to give us time to review them. We will be in touch with the winner to get permission to use the track as the official Gloucestershire anthem!
