Test, trace and isolate

The test, trace and isolate steps continue to play an important role in managing Covid in our community by preventing the virus spreading.

If you test positive for COVID-19 it’s really important that you share information about your recent contacts promptly and accurately so that they can be alerted if they need to self-isolate.

How will I be told if I am close contact?

  • A text or call from the national Test and Trace team.
  • An email or call from Gloucestershire County Council’s contact tracing team.
  • If may be necessary to try and visit people at their home if they can’t be contacted by phone.
  • An alert through the NHS Test and Trace App.

People who are asked to self-isolate will be signposted to local practical and mental health support to help them whilst they stay at home.

Financial support

If you are likely to experience financial hardship as a result of having to self-isolate you could be entitled to a Test and Trace Support Payment  or a discretionary payment of £500. You may also be able to get financial support through your district council.
