Who pays for expanded entitlement?

Early years entitlement rates, often known as nursery funding, are paid to all early years providers registered with Gloucestershire County Council for eligible children.

For the financial year 2025/2026, Gloucestershire County Council will fund providers as follows:

9 – 24-month-olds funding rate

£10.18 per hour

Expanded Entitlement for work families of 2-year-olds, funding rate

£7.47 per hour

Disadvantaged 2-year-olds funding rate

£7.47 per hour

3- and 4-year-olds funding rate

For both Universal hours and Extended hours, where applicable

Deprivation payments (if eligible)

£0.13p per hour

£1.00 per hour

Automatically calculated based on parent/carers details held by DWP
