Early Years Funded Entitlements in Wales
A family from Gloucestershire wanting to access childcare at a setting registered with the Welsh Assembly must apply to Gloucestershire County Council to access their funded entitlement and must meet the following criteria:
“There is clear evidence that the child has significant additional needs that cannot be met in a Gloucestershire early years setting.”
Some Early Years providers in Wales will fund between 10 – 12 hours per week for 3 & 4 year-olds only. If an application is approved, Gloucestershire will expect the Welsh LA to meet the universal funded offer available for the appropriate age group.
