Single Central Record Training for Early Years - FREE training

Published 2nd February 2021

The aim of these free 1 hour sessions is for you to learn what belongs on your setting’s single central record (SCR).

The single central record (SCR) is the central record of the safeguarding checks that have been carried out on all staff and other relevant people.

We receive a lot of questions about how to complete the SCR and what information should retained in relation to the SCR, so hope you will find this training useful.

There is no need to pre-book, just sign into the session that you would like to attend. The training will be delivered via Cisco Webex (NB your device might require you to download WEBEX). A recording of the session will be available at the end of March 2021.

Gloucestershire Encompass Training for Early Years

Published on 12th October 2020

This is based upon the successful model of sharing information between police and schools where there has been a reported incident of Domestic Abuse. We now wish to extend this model and training to those of you working in early years settings.

What is Operation Encompass?

To ensure the effectiveness of this scheme and to enable you to be equipped with documentation to support Gloucestershire Encompass we would like to offer every setting to attend one of the virtual training sessions.

To enable you to be as prepared as possible for this launch we would welcome one of your Designated Safeguarding Leads to attend one of the following virtual training sessions, with a view to them becoming the Encompass lead within your setting:

Virtual Training Sessions

You do not need to book to attend the Encompass Training Sessions. You may select any session and just dial in.

The sessions will last for a duration of approximately 90 minutes.

I have attached the powerpoint handout you will need for the session. I have also attached the serious case review of ‘Megan’ a young child who attended a local nursery. This case may be referred to in the session.

At the training you will be asked to provide the name of your Encompass lead within your setting along with a secure email address for the setting that notifications can be sent to.  Please note we are unable to accept personal email addresses. We aim to set up a directory of your information to ensure the effectiveness of this scheme.  Therefore your co-operation is vital to the success of Gloucestershire Encompass.

Kind regards,

George
