Designed to help you use the Portal more efficiently, these workshops are a great opportunity to expand your knowledge and understanding of the Nursery Funding Provider portal. Business Training: Business Planning Day 1 and 2

For setting managers, owners, including childminders, committee Chairs/treasurers following on from 30 hour events. Business planning and Sustainability will support providers to formulate a robust business plan to ensure future business success . The setting will be introduced to Sustainability indicators to allow Key Performance Indicators to be introduced to the setting.  The NCSL SI Planning framework `5 Whys' analysis tool will be introduced for problem solving which will formulate the gap task for exploration in Part 2. The setting will be able to diagnose a relevant problem with other staff members during the gap period.

First Steps to Childminding

Gloucestershire County Council offer heavily subsidised training for those who have attended the pre-registration briefing. The training will be run over three days and two evenings and attendance at all sessions is required. The course is delivered by experienced tutors who have a thorough understanding of the childminding sector and Ofsted requirements and will enable you to gain the required knowledge of legislation, childcare, child development, equality and inclusion, business practice and much more to enable you to be fully prepared to start your Childminding Business.
This syllabus will meet the requirements of the Early Years Statutory Framework and the Childcare Register – including the Common Core Skills and Knowledge for the children’s’ workforce.

Effective Coaching and Mentoring

Suitable for management, and senior staff.
The course will enable delegates to confidently be able to clearly explain what the intervention techniques referred to as Coaching and Mentoring are, acknowledge the skills you already have to use these approaches and identify when each intervention could be used most appropriately.  Staff and management will be able to discuss good practice principles of Coaching and Mentoring and demonstrate them in your actions, competently demonstrating a range of techniques to support improvement in your setting.  Delegates will be able to  state the connections between Coaching and Mentoring and the expectations of the EYFS/Ofsted, articulate the similarities and differences between Coaching and Mentoring, utilising your  own skills to develop the core approaches needed within good practice of Coaching and monitoring.  We will introduce the GROW model of coaching.
