Child Development & Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Offer

Information and support for Early Years providers, other professionals and families without the need for a referral. This includes training opportunities, weekly Provider email, Early Years advice line, Early Years Forum representatives, termly Leaders and Managers meetings, annual Conferences for both daycare and childminders, SENCO Cluster meetings and a dedicated website containing a range of information and resources.

The Early Years Quality Team offers support on a county wide basis to all Early Years providers, including childminders, with a focus on the Early Years Foundation Stage and statutory requirements. We operate a system to prioritise offers of support and welcome proactive requests from providers. Please contact us at Early Years Quality.

The Early Years Inclusion Team offers support on a county wide basis to all Early Years providers to embed inclusion in their everyday practice. Effective inclusive practice provides all children with access to opportunities and support during the earliest and most influential years of their learning and growing. It also helps enable children to be confident in who they are and what they aspire to in the future. Requests for support can be made via Inclusion support request.

The Early Years Child Development & SEND Team’s focus is to support individual children with additional needs either in the family home or in their Early Years setting. Request for portage can be made via: Portage support request. To discuss individual support for a child in an Early Years Setting, please contact our Early Years Advice Line in the first instance for a no names discussion and consideration of outreach interventions.
