What is HAF and HAP?

What is the Holiday Activities & Food programme (HAF)?

This Summer we are offering four weeks of activities and events for children and young people eligible for benefits related Free School Meals.

This programme, called the Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF), is funded by the Department for Education.

The HAF programme's purpose is to make sure children and young people are entertained, active, educated, safe and fed between 1st and 26th August.

How will it work?

Each day from 1st to 26th August, activities and events across the county will be available either in person, or online. Each district area will have its own page so you can find activities closest to you and what is being offered.

Some in-person activities will also need you to sign up in advance, so the providers know which children and young people are coming to join that day's fun and games. A meal or food kit will also be provided, dependant on each district's offer.

You will be able to sign up to our Children Activities Booking System (CABS)

What is the Holiday Activities Programme (HAP)?

This summer, we are also able to offer four days of activities and events open to all children and young people.

This scheme, called the Holiday Activities Programme (HAP), is in partnership with district councils, the voluntary sector and other organisations in the county and is funded by grants. Formerly known as COMF, the activities are open to all children.
