Course Details

This two day psychology course is based upon the research of key theorists and practitioners in the area of trauma and attachment, including John Bowlby, Bessel Van der Kolk, Bruce Perry, Kim Golding, Pat Crittendon, Jack Shonkoff, Dan Hughes, Louise Bomber, Heather Geddes, Dan Siegel, Stephen Porges, Peter Levine, Margot Sunderland, Sue Gerhardt, John Gottman, Marjorie Boxall and Nadine Burke-Harris.

This course will cover:

• What is meant by developmental trauma
• How adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and developmental trauma affect the developing brain
• The neuroscience of attachment and attachment difficulties
• The links between neuroplasticity and resilience
• Trauma-informed practise and effective evidence-based ways to support a child or young person affected by developmental trauma in school
