Occupational therapy

Sometimes children with a learning disability, difficulty or autism need support in being able to carry out everyday activities, for example showering or making some dinner. Occupational Therapists work with the child to manage these activities on their own and help them to reach their full potential. The local Occupational Therapy Team operate a self referral route. More details about the service and the referral form are available.

Physiotherapy

The local physiotherapy team offer support, advice and physical intervention for children and young people with a range of conditions to help with their health and wellbeing. Physiotherapy can be provided both in hospitals and the local community to children aged between 0-16 (and 16-19 when in fulltime education). More details about the service and the referral form are available.

Speech and language therapy

Children with a learning disability, difficulty or autism can often need additional support with their communication. If you feel your child may need support from our local speech and language Service you can fill in a self-referral form on behalf of your child.
