Is this related to the Holiday Free School Meal Voucher scheme?
No. The holiday free school meal voucher scheme is funded by grants. You will be receiving vouchers from the scheme for this December holiday. However the Holiday Activity and Food programme (HAF) is funded by the Department of Education which has given strict stipulations on how we are able to distribute the money - we are unable to distribute any additional vouchers in accordance with HAF guidelines.
Is my child eligible for HAF?
If your child is aged 5 -16 and receives free school meals, your child is eligible for HAF. If your child does not meet these requirements, they will still be able to participate in our HAP (Holiday Activities Programme- originally called COMF in the summer provision) offer which includes just as many fun and exciting opportunities for your family this December.
What is the difference between HAF and HAP?
HAF is funded by the Department of Education and is only eligible for 5-16 year olds on free school meals. HAP is funded by the Covid Outbreak Management Fund (COMF) which we applied for in the summer so that we could temporarily extend the HAF offer to all children and young people in the Gloucestershire area. This will continue in December so that all children and young people can participate in the winter fun this December.
How can I stay up to date on HAF news?
We run a weekly newsletter for parents which includes news and updates on the HAF programme, as well as handy, tricks, tips and recipes for your family to take advantage of this December. You can sign up to receive these here. We will also be posting updates on our social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter, and making sure that our website is up to date.
