About our children

We need foster carers for children of all ages. Our fostering priorities change all the time and at the moment we are looking for foster carers for:

Sibling groups

We need foster carers who can help brothers and sisters stay together. Depending on the age and gender of the children, you will need more than one spare room.

Teenagers

Almost half of the young people who come into care are teenagers. Foster carers will need to help them develop positive identity and self esteem and prepare them to be independent.

We also need foster carers who can support teenagers with more complex needs, e.g. for our IRIS scheme.

Parent and child

Sometimes a parent or both parents come into care with their baby. We need foster carers who can support the parent to learn the skills needed to care for their child. Find out more about this kind of fostering.

Disabled children

We needFamily Link Plus foster carers for short term breaks and respite for disabled children and young people.

We also need long term foster carers for disabled children and young people moving out of residential units.

Unaccompanied asylum seeking children

We currently need foster carers who can provide a supportive and culturally-sensitive home to young asylum seekers. You will still need to be assessed as a general foster carer. Most of the young people will be male and from 14 to 17 years of age. Find out more about this kind of fostering.
