Our mission and values
Our mission is:
'Working Together for a Safer Gloucestershire'.
Our vision:
'Our vision is to create a positive workplace culture that empowers and supports our people to provide exceptional community safety and emergency response services to the communities of Gloucestershire'.
'Our Strategy' covers the period April 2023 to March 2026 and is designed to guide us on the journey to meeting our Vision, Mission and Values in line with the objectives set out in the Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) Strategy 2022-2026.
‘Our Strategy’ sets out three strategic priorities, each detailing a set of three strategic intentions.
Our three strategic priorities are:
- Build the strongest foundations
- Keep our communities safe through our Community Risk Management Plan
- Lead a sustainable and thriving Service
Our Behaviours, Ethics and Values
We have developed a new Workplace Charter, which brings together Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) Core Values, the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) Code of Ethics and the NFCC Leadership Framework. The Workplace Charter has been established with the help of the Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service (GFRS) Improvement Group, in consulation with all GFRS staff, and brings to life what these behaviours, ethics and values mean to those working here. This new model sets the standard for how we will behave and treat each other on a day to day basis. This complete set of behaviours, ethics and values go hand in hand with our Mission and Vision statements and are embedded in everything we do. A review of our equality framework, practices, policies, and procedures is also currently taking place. This is in consultation with representative bodies, our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) Allies, GCC Black Workers Network and ED&I leads.
