Evening resurfacing for Westward Road, Stroud

On 24th April - 5th May, resurfacing work will go ahead between 7pm-12am on Westward Road, Stroud, from Chapel Lane to Frome Gardens.

The road will be open during the day as normal. Work to lay the new surface will be carried out on weekdays only, between 7pm-12am, to minimise disruption for road users and nearby residents.

A diversion route will be signposted along the A419 bypass: from Stonehouse, take the A419 at the Horse Trough roundabout, then continue on the A419 through Dudbridge Road and left onto Westward Road at the Cainscross Roundabout (and vice versa).

Mark Darlow-Joy, highways contract manager at Gloucestershire County Council said: “Westward Road is a well used route for numerous local businesses, schools, residents and commuters in and around Stroud, so this resurfacing is important.

“We’ve planned this work during evenings to make life as easy as possible for residents. I’d like to thank road users in advance for their patience during this scheme.”
