Vital resurfacing ahead for A429 Kemble

Published
30.08.2018

As part of Gloucestershire County Council’s £150m investment into the county’s roads, the busy A-road next to Cotswold Airport is being resurfaced from 13th September.

The carriageway is in need of essential resurfacing work because it has reached the end of its life expectancy. The road will be closed from Thursday 13th September to Wednesday 19th September. To help keep disruption to a minimum, work will take place during 9:30am to 3:30pm (excluding weekends) and the road will still be open during peak times.

Your highways crews will be resurfacing over 2,521m² of road with approximately 300 tonnes of material.

Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways and flood, said: “This scheme highlights our continued £150m investment into Gloucestershire’s roads. I’d like to reassure residents that we will keep disruption to a minimum and thank them for bearing with us.”

Cllr Shaun Parsons, county councillor for South Cerney division, said: “This is a busy and popular route for road users, so it is vital this resurfacing goes ahead. I would like to thank the local community in advance for their cooperation while the work is carried out.”
