Elmbridge Court roundabout from the sky

Published

As Gloucestershire County Council continues its work on one of the busiest roundabouts in the county, new images are released that highlight the progress so far.

The improvements to Elmbridge Roundabout are on track and targets are being met. Since the work started in August crews have started work on creating the new hamburger lane, laying miles of kerbs, installing drainage and electrical cables and building a new and improved subway.

To mark its progress, the county council have released images of the roundabout from the sky.

Thanks to £9m government funding, once completed the roundabout will have a new straight-on 'hamburger lane', a widening of the approach lanes and the latest traffic signal technology.

Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways at Gloucestershire County Council, said: "These images are incredible. They perfectly highlight all the great work crews are doing on the ground and give a real insight into what the roundabout will look like once it's completed."
