Need help applying to the EU Settlement Scheme?
EU citizens who need help applying to the EU Settlement Scheme can access support through Gloucestershire County Council.
The EU Settlement Scheme is a free scheme which enables EU citizens resident in the UK, and their family members, to obtain the status they will require in order to live and work in the UK after 30 June 2021.
Applicants only need to complete three key steps – prove their identity, show that they live in the UK, and declare any criminal convictions. Most people can apply from the comfort of their own home in as little as 15 minutes and there have already been more than 4.2 million applications to the scheme.
Gloucestershire County Council is partnering with Citizens Advice and GARAS (Gloucestershire Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers) to reach out to those who need support to apply for the scheme.
The online application can be accessed through a computer, tablet or smartphone. Citizens Advice and GARAS can offer information and advice as well as access to a computer if people need help getting online.
Cllr Carole Allaway-Martin, cabinet member responsible for commissioning services for vulnerable people, said: “It’s really important that all EU citizens have the opportunity to access this scheme to stay in the UK, so if you or someone you know needs any support with the application please do call or email any of the contacts below.”
EU, other EEA and Swiss citizens, and their family members who are living in the UK before 31 December 2020 can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme.
