GM Presents: A series of musical events


‘GM Presents’ is a new series of musical experiences showcasing local talent including bands, soloists and singers. Come along and enjoy the smooth sounds of Gloucestershire!

Gloucestershire Music Presents brings a stunning two night musical experience to Gloucestershire from no less than six of its youth and adult music groups.

This event marks the first in a series that will be held in Gloucestershire on a termly basis.

Cllr Richard Boyles, cabinet member for children and young people, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy some of the county’s finest musicians. GM Presents is putting on a fantastic show and I would encourage all music lovers to come and experience what Gloucestershire has to offer.”

Pittville Pumps out the Music

Tuesday 6th February 2018 – 19:30pm – Pittville Pump Room, Cheltenham.

On Tuesday 6th February three wind bands with over 100 musicians will take to the stage at the impressive Pittville Pump Room. 

The Gloucestershire Symphonic Wind Orchestra, Lakeside Concert Band & Five Valleys Adult Wind Band will present a varied programme of music joined by two soloists. 

Richard Brooks (clarinet) will perform alongside the Lakeside Concert Band in a performance of Rimsky Korsakov’s Clarinet Concerto. 

Tom Hutchinson (Principal Cornet of the Cory Band and Besson Artist) will perform some dazzling unaccompanied solos as well as join the trumpet section of the Gloucestershire Symphonic Wind Orchestra for a performance of the every popular Bugler’s Holiday by Leroy Anderson.

Cheltenham Triple-Decker Jazz

Wednesday 7th February 2018 – 19:30 – Pillar Room, Cheltenham Town Hall. 

On Wednesday 7th February we move to the Pillar room at the Cheltenham Town Hall. Three large bands will perform and there is sure to be a jazz movement to suit all tastes. 

The Gloucestershire Youth Jazz Academy, Jazz2Go and Colwell Arts Jazz Orchestra will entertain audiences in the informal surroundings of the Pillar Room Bar. 

Soak up the great sounds of big band jazz in the comfort of the Pillar Room Bar from 19:30pm this Wednesday. Concert doors open from 19:00pm.
