At the double! Resurfacing coming to Coleford
Two popular roads in Coleford will be receiving some essential improvement work as part of the county council’s £150million investment into Gloucestershire’s roads.
Lamsquay Road and Chepstow Road in Coleford, Forest of Dean both require resurfacing and some TLC, so crews will be in the area for nearly a week to do the work.
Resurfacing work will take place on Lamsquay Road between Monday 11 and Friday 15 February 7am – 7pm, and due to the type of work needed to repair the road surface there will be no access to the garden centre.
The B4228 Chepstow Road is a popular route connecting Coleford to Sling and will be resurfaced between Thursday 14 and Monday 18 February. This road will also be closed between 7am – 7pm.
Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways, said, “It’s not just city roads which benefit from our £150million investment into your highways - we invest in rural routes too. It makes sense to do both these roads while we have the kit in the same area, however crews may be battling against the weather so please bear with us.”
With unpredictable weather over the winter period, our resurfacing programme may change at the last minute. Please keep an eye on our website www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/resurfacing and advanced signs on site for updates.
As there are two different roads there will be two different signed diversion routes, however the roads will be open again over night (7pm – 7am) and at weekends. Diversions can also be found online at www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/resurfacing
