County bands to play iconic music from silver screen
Over 80 musicians from Gloucestershire are set to entertain families with music from some iconic films.
The event will take place on Sunday 7th February, 3pm at the Stroud Subscription Rooms, GL5 1AE.
The Gloucestershire Symphonic Wind Orchestra, conducted by Jenny Steele, and the National award winning Gloucestershire Youth Wind Orchestra, conducted by Steve Legge from Gloucestershire Music, will present a family focused programme of well known music from the silver screen.
Organised by Gloucestershire Music, Gloucestershire County Council's music education service, the concert will feature music from titles such as: Jurassic Park, Frozen, Chicken Run, James Bond, Despicable Me, Out of Africa and more.
Steve Legge, musical director and assistant head of Gloucestershire Music said: "Gloucestershire Music is very proud of its youth and adult music groups.
"This concert will be a lot of fun. Aimed at families and film lovers, there is something for everyone.
"We are delighted that Paul McLaughlin, general manager at the subscription rooms, will narrate and there will be over 80 musicians. It is sure to be a fun and engaging afternoon."

Cllr Paul McLain, cabinet member for children and young people said: "Having the opportunity to enjoy top songs from some of the nation's favourite movies, played by talented local musicians will be a rare and really enjoyable event for everyone."
