Gloucestershire Music, the county council’s award winning music service, is recruiting musicians of all ages and abilities to take part in its many youth groups.

The county council has joined forces with BBC Radio Gloucestershire to cover many of the BBC Ten Pieces during weekly rehearsals in January. There is still a chance to get involved and join in with one of the many youth music centre rehearsals.

For more information and advice on how to join in with the BBC Ten Pieces Celebration Concert on Saturday 17th March visit: http://www.gloucestershiremusic.co.uk/.

The celebration concert will be taking place at Tewkesbury Abbey featuring over 150 young musicians and singers from around the county.

Cllr Richard Boyles, cabinet member for children and young people at Gloucestershire County Council said: “Ten Pieces is a wonderful introduction to music for lots of children and adults. This is an opportunity for new and experienced players to be part of this incredible musical project, whilst also improving their own skills and making new friends.

“We have some talented musicians in the county as well as many more budding stars who I’m sure will do Gloucestershire proud as part of the BBC Ten Pieces event.

“I look forward to the celebration and hope to see as many residents as possible strike up a note and take part. Everyone enjoys music so let’s celebrate it together.”

If you are interested in taking part in the BBC Ten Pieces event, there are a variety of youth music centres and community groups that you can join in with. Whether you’re a singer, you play an instrument or just beginning your musical journey there is a group for you.
