Gloucestershire Music presents a concert of well-loved orchestral classics


Colwell Arts Orchestra will be performing at Ribston Hall School from 7:30pm on Wednesday 20th June.


The Colwell Arts Orchestra, organised by Gloucestershire Music (the music service for Gloucestershire County Council), will be performing a range of well-loved orchestral classics, conducted by Richard Ling.

Its membership comprises of 65 enthusiastic amateur adult musicians, keen to develop their skills alongside like-minded players within a large, friendly, orchestral setting.

Performances on the night will include movements from Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No.1, Dvorak’s 8th Symphony, Beethoven’s 8th Symphony, Mendelssohn’s 5th Symphony, Parry’s Shulbrede Tunes and “The Alchemy of Spring” by John Sadler - a contemporary work by their principal cellist.

Entry to the concert will be free and refreshments will be provided during the interval, however voluntary donations to put towards the cost of the concert will be gratefully received at the end of the show.
