Longlevens benefits from £150m investment

As part of the county council’s £150m investment in Gloucestershire’s roads; Cheltenham Road in Longlevens, Gloucester will be resurfaced overnight from Monday 8 July.

Cheltenham Road will be closed for eleven nights for essential resurfacing works from 8 July to 22 July. To help minimise disruption, the work will take place overnight between 7pm to 7am (excluding weekends).

A signed diversion route using roads which are suitable for all vehicles will be in place. Highways crews will complete vital resurfacing along a total of 7,422m² of road with a total of 1,078 tonnes of material.

Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways, said: “We’re resurfacing the busy Cheltenham Road in Longlevens as part of our £150 million promise to upgrade the county’s highways. This road carries nearly 17,500 vehicles a day so we’re keeping disruption to a minimum by making the improvements at night time. I’d like to thank local residents and road users for their patience.”
