Published
28.03.2017

Work will be taking place this week to the A429 during night time closures.

The work will include the mini roundabouts located at the junctions between the High Street and Oxford Street and the High Street, East Street and Bourton Road. There will also be new road markings at various locations within the town.

In order to minimise disruption, work on the road will be take place during two overnight road closures, between Wednesday 29th March to Thursday 30th March (7pm to 7.30am).

Diversions will be in place and commuters and residents are recommended to allow extra time for their journeys.

Work will be combined with a new pedestrian island on the A44 London Road, which will be installed during the day from the 29th March for three weeks using temporary traffic lights.

Resurfacing work will also be taking place from 29th to 31st March at Moreton railway bridge, with daytime closures between 9.30am and 3.30pm on both days.

Scott Tompkins, lead commissioner for highways, said: “We would like to thank people for their patience whilst this work takes place. Diversions will be clearly advertised and  we would recommend residents and commuters allow extra time for their journeys.”
