UPDATE: Problems contacting us by email

We are currently not able to receive emails. Our IT provider has been subject to a cyber attack. From the checks they have carried out so far, they do not believe our systems have been affected, however as a precautionary measure we have blocked all external emails from reaching our servers, until they can assure us that this is the case.

Emails from us are not affected by the block that is in place, so you should still receive contact from us in this way, although it may take slightly longer than normal.

We will let you know when these issues are resolved.

County council in national top ten for adult social care

Gloucestershire County Council has been ranked 7th out of 150 councils nationwide for its support for vulnerable older people.

The research, published in the Municipal Journals, praises Gloucestershire for making the top ten as a result of ‘significant improvements’ in productivity in its support for people with disabilities.

The report highlighted improvements in a number of areas, including ensuring service users felt well supported, were satisfied with the service provided and prompt interventions were made.

Cllr Kathy Williams, cabinet member for adult social care delivery at Gloucestershire County Council said: “Despite challenging financial times, we have always invested in the most vulnerable – including an extra £2m this year to support vulnerable older people.  This shows the real differences that decision is making. There is still much to do – but this shows that the hard work of our staff and partners is making a real difference.”
