County council renews partnership to provide welfare support to people in need
The council has renewed its contract with Auriga Services Ltd who will manage the Gloucestershire Welfare Support Scheme for another three years from 1 April 2019.
The scheme provides one-off practical support to eligible adults and families to help them buy items such as furniture, household goods, white goods and electricity/gas top-ups.
Auriga will process requests for support from individuals and Social Care and Youth Support teams, together with rent deposit requests from agreed supporting partner agencies.
We’re also making it easier to apply for support online with the development of a new electronic portal which will mean applicants get a much quicker response. They’ll be able to view key information such as eligibility criteria, user guides, time scales and for the first time, a real-time update on the progress of each application.
The new portal will be mobile and tablet friendly which means that customers without a computer will able to use the service and apply easily too.
