Could you be the next One Direction or Ed Sheeran? Then don’t miss your chance to perform as part of the world’s largest youth music festival, Music for Youth.

Gloucestershire Music is looking for local bands and songwriters to sign up to our 2018 Music for Youth Regional Festival. Bands and songwriters will get a 10 minute performance at Cheltenham Town Hall along with feedback from two music mentors who work in the music industry.

A ‘Bands & Songwriters’ session has been booked at Cheltenham Town Hall for Monday 26th March 2018 from 17:00 – 18:00.

To secure your place visit www.mfy.org.uk and enter via the regional festival. You will need an adult (18 or over) to enter and your group must be a minimum of two people. Solo artists are encouraged to join forces with fellow young musicians to present a duo or larger band.

Music for Youth festival is open to bands - under the age of 21 - based or educated in Gloucestershire. You can be part of a student or school led group to enter. The closing date for entries will be Thursday 30th November 2017.

Cllr Richard Boyles, cabinet member for children and young people at Gloucestershire County Council said: “The rewards of participating in Music for Youth are fantastic. Everyone who performs in our regional festival are invited to attend the National Festival in Birmingham.

“Talented groups will even get the chance to perform at Birmingham Music Conservatoire and the impressive Symphony Hall. Previously, some bands have gone on to perform at the Royal Albert Hall and the Brit School for Performing Arts. Don’t miss your chance to become the next big thing in music and sign up now!”

This year’s regional Music for Youth festival returns to the Cheltenham Town Hall and attracts over 1,000 young performers each year.

Music for Youth is the world’s largest youth music festival and provides successful groups with the opportunity to perform at such iconic venues as the Albert Hall as well as receive support and feedback from industry professionals.
