Oxstalls Way to be resurfaced

Gloucestershire County Council is to start work this week to resurface Oxstalls Way, Longlevens.

The work, which will take place on Friday 7th October and Monday 10th October, will help improve the road and take place from 7am - 5pm.

Although the road won't be closed, the width of the road and the machinery that needs to be used will mean that accessing the road whilst the work happens will be limited.

Residents and those who park along the road are therefore being encouraged to avoid parking there on the two days. Anyone in need of gaining access is advised to speak to one of the workers on site and they will advise how to gain access.

Local people have been made aware of the work, which is not happening at the weekend to try and minimise disruption to residents, with machinery being removed from site over the weekend.

Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways and flooding, said: "We are committed to investing in our roads and I would like to thank residents for their patience during the work and apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Cllr Kathy Williams, county councillor for Longlevens, said: "This work taking place will be beneficial to all road users and it is good to see that improvements are being made to Oxstalls Way."
