Richard Bradley Appointed New Vice Lord-Lieutenant
His Majesty The King has approved the appointment of Richard Bradley as Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire with effect from 14th April 2025 until 31st July 2028. Richard succeeds Roger Deeks, who held the commission for three years. Richard (58) has lived in Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire for over 50 years, currently living in Willersey. Richard was appointed as Deputy Lieutenant in 2024. Prior to this, Richard served as a Police Officer with Gloucestershire Constabulary and has also worked for the Local Authority. Richard retired as Chief Executive of the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner in 2022.
Announcing the appointment, Lord-Lieutenant, Edward Gillespie said "I am delighted to welcome Richard, who knows our ceremonial county so well, to this important role for the next three years. His background with the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner's Fund, which has supported 675 community-based projects, is particularly valuable to the Lieutenancy, which promotes and celebrates the contribution of volunteers in our communities. Richard is also a member of the County's Registration Service Team, which the Lieutenancy supports through our attendance at Citizenship Ceremonies. I am very grateful to Roger Deeks DL for serving in this role throughout the historic period following the change of Monarch in 2022. Roger will continue to be a valuable member of our Gloucestershire team.
