GovDelivery authors

Training material to help GovDelivery authors create, edit, and send mail (and SMS) bulletins.
(Based on these training notes prepared by John Porter.)

Content:

  • Creating or editing a newsletter - Basic or Advanced
  • Viewing stats for bulletins
  • Copying sent bulletins
  • Adding subscribers and the 'subscribe' link
  • Things to remember
  • Video recording of a training session
  • Do not edit your topic template as if you are creating a newsletter – to avoid this do not use the left menu templates option. The templates area is for editing the template for your bulletins – you do not need a new template for each bulletin. If you do want to edit your template that is fine – Comms can help if needed.
  • Do not use an image as the whole body of your bulletin. This is inaccessible for visually impaired users who will be using technology that reads out the content to them. Any message contained within an image needs to also have a text version in the message so that it accessible to all.
  • If you are interested in page watches, drip campaigns, customised sign-ups or and other GovDelivery features then contact Comms
  • There is useful guidance in GovDelivery that you can access by clicking the Support link in the top right corner
