Recruitment

This page tells you about recent developments in practice to help Safeguard Adults from abuse.

Adult Safeguarding and the Care Act 2014

The Act sets out the local authority's responsibility for protecting adults with 7.1.care and support needs from abuse or neglect for the first time in primary legislation. This is vital to ensure clear accountability, roles and responsibilities for helping and protecting adults with care and support needs who are experiencing, or at risk of, abuse or neglect as a result of those needs. Local authorities are given a lead role in coordinating local safeguarding activity.

Safeguarding & Personalisation Framework (June 2010)

This Framework does not attempt to replace existing policies and procedures;  it is intended to show how they can and should be linked and to help you build on good practice. Not all risks in the self directed support and personalisation process are necessarily linked to Safeguarding - there may be health and safety issues and environmental health issues which should also be routinely considered.
