Medication administration in the council’s In House services

This medication administration policy applies in council owned and operated residential / short break homes and day centres in Gloucestershire.

We support people who use these services to be as independent as they can be. This includes looking after and taking their own medication unless this might put them or other people at risk of harm.  We use risk assessment to decide how much independence with medication is safe.

This policy explains the council’s requirements for managing and administering medication safely in our services.
