Virtual Sports Day - 26 May 2020

Please take part in our Virtual Sports Day!

It takes place on 26 May 2020 – and it is an event planned for ALL children and young people.

We would like all children to participate in an activity that encourages them to have fun, participate and keep active. They will also be able to encourage their friends and families to donate to the Just Giving page we have set up for our Gloucestershire Sports day at:

https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/gloucestershire-county-council

Every child and young person will have different abilities so we would like all to set a challenge which is suitable for them, whether it is 10 minutes or two hours. It is the taking part that counts.

  • Do an activity in your garden or home!
  • It can be as silly or as sporty as you like!

Please take some time to discuss this with the child or young person before the event.

Gloucestershire County Council has involved its young people and the ambassadors in the publicity development for this event.

There is a poster and also an image which can be downloaded and shared on social media.

The ambassadors have also produced this short video to encourage all to enjoy and take part in the Virtual Sports Day.

We are sure there will be some great examples of sports and other activities to raise funds. We would be grateful if schools and our partners can advertise and promote this as widely as possible. We hope to raise £5000 for the NHS.

We would really like to see some of the wonderful activities that Gloucestershire Children and young people get involved with to fund raise. With your child’s agreement please share pictures and videos with us on social medis using the hashtag #VirtualSportsDay

We hope this will be an enjoyable event for all Gloucestershire young people and their friends and families – so please join in and/ or give if you can.
