Translation and Interpretation Service
Gloucestershire County Council has a contract in place with AAGlobal for the delivery of translation and interpretation services.
Face to Face Interpretation
You can book an interpreter through AAGlobal’s website https://portal.aaglobal.co.uk/login. Please be aware that, unless it is an emergency, you will need to give more than 24 hours notice when booking interpreters.
Please ensure you give AAGlobal as much notice as possible to give them the opportunity to source an interpreter to meet your needs. If an interpreter from out of area is needed this will incur extra charge due to the additional travelling time and cost.
For instructions on how to book an interpreter through AAGlobal's website, please click here.
Same method can be used as above by going onto https://portal.aaglobal.co.uk/login to place a request to translate a document.
Please ensure you give AAGlobal as much notice as possible to give them the opportunity to meet your deadlines and provide best quality translation, especially for long documents.
To set yourself up to use the telephone interpretation service, you will need the 5 Digit Client ID (19346) and also a 4 Digit Pin Number which can be obtained from firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 01482 308777 (Option 1). These numbers will not change.
To use telephone interpreters please call 033 3344 1192 where you will be guided through step by step instructions before getting connected to an interpreter. This will give you the opportunity to instantly access one for either a 2-Way (you & interpreter) or 3-Way (you, service user & interpreter) call.
You can also schedule a telephone interpreting call as well as request for the same interpreter to be used for continuity purposes by going onto https://portal.aaglobal.co.uk/login.
Important: All bookings should be made using the relevant cost code. Please put this in to the “client reference” field. This has to be in numeric format. As some codes begin with the letter ‘o’ they will not currently be accepted on this new system, staff should therefore miss off the ‘o’ when booking telephone interpreters.
British Sign Language Interpreters
Gloucestershire County Council uses Gloucestershire Deaf Association for BSL interpreters.
Follow the online booking process for GDA http://www.gda.org.uk/find-a-service/communications-support-unit/book-a-bsl-interpreter.aspx.
Please ensure you use your correct budget code when booking a BSL interpreter.
