Information and how to get involved in this scheme

How we will talk to you

A big conversation on this scheme will happen in spring 2021.

GCC will start by inviting key people to take part in detailed discussions about the route design and the best way to deliver the scheme. Everyone in the area will also get the opportunity to have their say on key aspects of the scheme.

We would love to speak to you, your friends and family in the area face to face, show you designs and answer your questions in person. COVID-19 guidance means we can’t meet with you face to face at the moment, however by the time we are ready for your feedback this may change.

A lot of information will be available online. We will have a dedicated interactive website, with key information, maps of where the cycle scheme will go, and lots of Frequently Asked Questions. We will have surveys on specific aspects of the scheme for you to fill out and share with people you know. If we can’t hold drop in events we will use videos, virtual events and social media as much as possible to tell you about the scheme. There will always be a dedicated email address for you to contact us, and we are considering all the options we have to make sure people without the internet are heard too.

This will be compliant with the latest Consultation Institute guidance as well as fulfil the requirement set out by the Department for Transport in the Active Travel Fund award guidance.
