Closure of Prison Copse Wall ('The Old A40') Near Northleach

Cracks in the retaining wall at Prison Copse Wall (‘The Old A40’) near Northleach have become much worse. We have closed the road for safety reasons and it is likely to be closed for some time. Thank you for your patience; we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Major Projects

Alongside day to day highway repairs and smaller improvements schemes, Gloucestershire County Council also undertakes major projects on key parts of the road network.

Works include improvements to congestion and capacity at locations of strategic and economic importance to improve journey times and enable growth.

 

 

 

All Gloucestershire County Council Major Projects are managed by the Major Projects Team, through the life-cycle of the project. This work includes project definition and feasibility, application for funding, preparation and submission of Business Cases, engagement, design, Council approval, procurement and construction.
