Care Routeway July 2026

Recruiting in the care sector isn’t always easy. Locating candidates with the right values, approach, and readiness for the role can take time and we know many employers are feeling that pressure.

That’s where our Care Routeway comes in.

We’re working with individuals across Gloucestershire to develop their interest in starting a career in care. Through targeted preparation and support, we'll help them understand what you as an employer need and build the skills and confidence to help them succeed.

How it works

Participants complete four days of focused preparation, covering:

  • An introduction to working in care
  • Expectations of the role and employer insight
  • Core employability skills

At the end of the week, they meet care employers with live or future opportunities, ready to take the next step into work.

What this means for you

We're looking to engage employers to support this initiative.

What this means for you:

  • Meet motivated, prepared candidates interested in care roles
  • Save time on shortlisting and early-stage screening
  • Access local talent who understand the sector
  • Support people into meaningful employment in your community

Fully funded support

This initiative is fully funded, meaning there is no cost to your organisation to take part.

Get involved

We’re inviting care organisations to meet candidates at the end of the routeway and share current or upcoming vacancies.

We will deliver the routeway training between Monday 29 June and Thursday 2 July and we want employers to meet them on Friday 3 July.

At this stage, all we would ask of you is to support this initiative by agreeing in principle to meet a candidate on 3 July. We will check in with you two weeks before to ensure you have a live vacancy for application and only at that point would we ask you to commit.
