• Age UK is the country's largest charity dedicated to helping everyone make the most of later life. Research is at the heart of their work and they research issues that matter to older people, from wellbeing to care to retirement, which underpins their work to improve life for older people.

Carers Trust

• Carers Trust is a major charity for, with and about carers. They work to improve support, services and recognition for anyone living with the challenges of caring, unpaid, for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems.
• Carers Trust have a searchable resources page for anyone who works with carers.

Carers UK

• As the UK's only national membership charity for carers, Carers UK is both a supportive community and a movement for change.
• Carers UK provide a variety of resources to help professionals to provide the best support for carers. These include: Caring Behind Closed Doors, Facts about carers 2019 , State of Caring 2023  and Key Facts and Figures about Carers.

English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA)

• The English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA) collects longitudinal multidisciplinary data from a representative sample of the English population aged 50 and older.

Family Resources Survey

• The Family Resources Survey (FRS) is a continuous household survey which collects information on a representative sample of private households in the United Kingdom. Detailed information is recorded on each respondent: their incomes; housing tenure; caring needs and responsibilities; disability; expenditure on housing; education; pension participation; childcare; family circumstances; child maintenance. Institute of Public Care (IPC)

• Projecting Adult Needs and Service Information (PANSI) - This view-only system is developed by the Institute of Public Care (IPC). It is for use by local authority planners and commissioners of social care provision in England, together with providers. It is a programme designed to help explore the future impact that demography and certain conditions may have on populations aged 18 to 64.
• Projecting Older People Population Information (POPPI) - This view-only system is developed by the Institute of Public Care (IPC). It is for use by local authority planners and commissioners of social care provision in England, together with providers. It is a programme designed to help explore the future impact that demography and certain conditions may have on populations aged 65 and over.

• The report from the House of Lords Committee on Public Service and Demographic Change warns that the Government and our society are woefully underprepared for ageing. The report covers a broad range of policy areas, providing a comprehensive analysis of the potential impact of an ageing population on public services.

Public Health England

• The Adult Social Care Profile provides a range of data about people who use or have the potential to use Adult Social Care Services at Local Authority level. The profile is there to support commissioners and health professionals when making decisions about these people by bringing together a wide selection of indicators from different publicly available data sources.
• Based on available national data In England, the SHAPE atlas sets out what we currently know about dementia care and support across the country. The data is grouped in themes based on NHS England’s well dementia pathway.
• Fingertips is a web platform that provides easy access to in-depth analysis of a wide range of health and health related data in thematic profiles.
• Learning Disability - Applying All Our Health.  This guide by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities on the Gov.uk website contains national statistics on people with learning disabilities and the services and support available to them and their families.

NHS Digital

• NHS Digital is the national provider of high-quality information and data for health and social care.
• The Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDS) contains record-level data about the care of children, young people and adults who are in contact with mental health, learning disabilities or autism spectrum disorder services.

NOMIS

• A service provided by the Office for National Statistics, ONS, to give free access to the most detailed and up-to-date population, DWP benefit claims, Census data and UK labour market statistics from official sources.

Sport England

• This report by Sport England provides a statistical review of disabled people in England using existing information from a variety of sources. It examines 12 impairments experienced by people at a national and regional level, and highlights overlapping impairments that are most common among people with disabilities.
