Special Educational Needs (SEN)

We cover all aspects of SEN law in order to assist the Local Authority’s SEN team to comply with its statutory duty of providing children and young adults with learning disabilities, in both post 16 and post 19 provision, with all the extra help and balanced support required to meet their needs in the most appropriate school or college.  

SEN lawyers’ work includes providing advice to case workers and other professionals, dealing with challenges to an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan, transferring a Statement of Special Needs to an EHC Plan, defending at First-tierSpecial Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Tribunals as well as Upper-tribunal Appeals, advocating in Tribunals, and contesting Judicial Review claims.
