Collection Services & Opening Hours

The latest information on opening times and collection services can be found on the website here:

PCs & Printing

Selected Libraries will be open from the 10th August and will offer computer access and printing. Additional sites will open later in August.

PCs are available to book up to 3 days in advance.

Please note, in order to create social distancing in all 31 of our libraries, we are having to make physical changes to the buildings and the library layout. As a result  there will be a reduced number of PCs  and time limits will have to be placed upon use.

Unexpected books showing on your account?

If you have placed any reservations or an “Off the Shelf” collection then library staff may have loaned the items to your account in anticipation of your collection. This helps to reduce unnecessary handling of the books. You will receive an email notification prompting you to book a collection slot.

We have recently resolved a problem with reservations where notifications were not being sent so if the book loaned to your account is something you have been waiting for then please phone your library to arrange collection (phone numbers are included from the page linked above)

Fines & Lost Books

Please do not worry if you have unexpected fines or any of the books you have on loan are showing as “lost” on your account. We changed our system supplier at the start of April and as a result not all items had their loans extended.

We are clear that you will not be charged fines during the period there was no or limited access to libraries.

Any fines that have accrued in error during the closed period (23rd March onwards) will be waived, this will happen when they are returned

Returns

You are welcome to return items. Most libraries have a book drop or letterbox. Please return any items you have on loan and no longer require. It will be clearly marked at the library where to return items and please respect social distancing when doing so.

eBooks, eAudio and eMagazines services are available with new titles being added
