Libraries have books to help people manage a range of health conditions. The collections include helpful information about common mental health for both adults and young people; dementia; long term physical conditions, as well as books to lift your mood.
Recommended Books for Mental Health
Reading Well Books on Prescription are books recommended by health professionals. They may be prescribed or borrowed from any Gloucestershire Library
Books on the list have been carefully selected and are designed to cover a range of mild to moderate mental health conditions including stress, anxiety, anger, phobias and depression.

These specially chosen books will provide help and support for people with dementia, carers of people with dementia and anyone who would like to find out more about the condition or is worried about symptoms.
Gloucestershire Libraries’ Share A Poem Groups
Join one of our friendly Share a Poem groups who meet regularly in a relaxed setting to share and talk about poetry.
Our groups are all inclusive and we welcome people who are experiencing memory loss, their close relatives and friends, to join us.
