Food for thought

Our food tends to make up between a tenth and a third of our total household carbon footprint.

Cutting meat and dairy out of your diet completely can cut your dietary carbon footprint by two thirds but cutting out small amounts can also have a big impact. Cutting down on meat just one day each week can have lots of benefits.

Buying local produce can help support Gloucestershire’s economy as well as reducing food miles. Why not sign up to a local veg box scheme, this will reduce food miles, packaging produced and will support local farms. It is a great first step in. Find out about local food suppliers

Reducing food waste can save you money and can help the climate. Find out more about how you can reduce the food you waste.
