Youth Climate Panel (case study 1)

In May 2019 Gloucestershire County Council joined many other local authorities in declaring a climate emergency and held a Climate Summit jointly with the GFirst Local Enterprise Partnership, whose mission is to drive sustainable economic growth throughout Gloucestershire. They work with business, education and the public sector in the county and help us to ensure a wide audience.

At this event, the council committed to setting up a Youth Climate Panel it was greed that young people want and need to play a key role in informing future plans to bring about a low carbon, resilient and attractive Gloucestershire where people want to live, work and visit.

Funding for trees (case study 2)

A huge decline in biodiversity due habitat loss, coupled with an understanding that carbon sequestration will form a part of any carbon neutral achievement, due to inability to eradicate all residual emissions, plus huge losses of existing trees due to Ash Dieback has led to an overwhelming demand for tree planting.
