Local Aggregates Assessment (LAA)

The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) requires minerals planning authorities to plan for a steady and adequate supply of aggregates. To achieve this consideration must be given to the outcomes of annually-prepared Local Aggregates Assessments (LAAs).

The LAA for Gloucestershire is made up of the following: -

  • information about the supply of aggregates and remaining reserves from mineral sites within Gloucestershire;
  • an analysis of future aggregate supply options affecting the county and a review of future demand; and
  • conclusions and recommendations for minerals planning purposes.

10th LAA for Gloucestershire

The 10th version LAA covers the period between 01/01/2020 and 31/12/20. It has been subject to targeted consultation including; all district, town and parish councils in Gloucestershire, all adjacent minerals planning authorities and the South West Aggregate Working Party (SW-AWP).
