Successful projects

The fund was highly competitive and we received five times as many applications as we could fund. 

The twelve projects below were successful as they demonstrated excellent value for money, the projects will reduce carbon emissions and they have an active approach to outreach and community engagement to foster pro- environmental behaviours. 

1.  1. Leckhampton High School Ridan Composter - The school will install a composter that will allow all food waste at the school to be composted on site and used in the grounds.

2.    Newent Library of Things - The Recycling Shop CIC will expand it’s current provision to create a rental library of objects that can be utilised by the local community.

3.    Pineholt Village Hall Energy Conservation Showcase - Hucclecote parish council are retrofitting their village hall and putting on open days for parish councils and the public to show how energy conservation can be achieved.

4.    Twynings Mens Shed Repairs - Contribution to tools and the general running of the shed to help with open days and reducing the amount of new items purchased locally.

5.    Gloucestershire Association of Town and Parish Councils - Training for parish councillors on reducing carbon within parishes.

6.    Stroud Valleys Project Carbon Reduction Hub - A carbon reduction hub in the centre of Stroud will provide advice to local residents businesses and community groups on lowering carbon emissions.

7.    Winchcombe Solar Panels - Installing solar panels on a listed public building to showcase how this can be extended across the county.

8.    Strategy and Evolution pop up event solar panels - Solar panels and associated equipment to replace diesel generators at large local scouting events, and other events. 

9.    Project Grow CIC - Local food growing project that aims to provide half the food for local cookery classes run through Wiggly cookery.

10. Coleford cycle shelter and town centre wellbeing - Installation of a wooden cycle shelter with a sedum roof in a town centre as part of a wider transformation to encourage active transport. 

11. St. Johns Academy school advocacy project - Students and parents to have visits and learn about carbon cycle from experts before taking action to reduce emissions at school.

12. Train Tripper - Gloucestershire Community Rail Partnership will encourage increased use of rail with local businesses.
