COP26 and in the county

The UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow on 31 October – 12 November 2021.

The climate talks will bring together heads of state, climate experts and campaigners to agree coordinated action to tackle climate change.  As COP26 Presidency, the UK is committed to working with all countries and joining forces with civil society, companies and people on the frontline of climate change to inspire action ahead of COP26. Visit the COP26 website for more information.

The COP26 roadshow and carbon ‘battle bus’ stopped at Cheltenham and at Gloucester on Wednesday 15th September where business leaders and entrepreneurs gathered at the University of Gloucestershire to hear from sector leaders and local businesses that have started their own journey to net zero.

The Active Building Centre will be showcasing Gloucestershire's green credentials in the form of a COP26 local 'fringe' event in October.  Ahead of COP26 in Glasgow, the event will take place in Berkeley, Gloucestershire. We will discuss issues ranging from leadership on the green agenda, the role of the public sector in reaching net zero, to the need for green skills, and how the UK’s construction industry needs to adapt or wither.  For more information on this event, visit the active building centre website.
