Ahead of COP26 later this month, we have reaffirmed our commitment to addressing the global emergency by announcing a comprehensive action plan to reduce our carbon footprint further and reach Net Zero emissions by 2030.
Our plan includes a range of far-reaching measures tackling scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, from replacing gas boilers with electric heating, to encouraging staff and students to choose the lowest carbon mode of travel, to lower our carbon footprint. We are also maximising our ‘brainprint’ – innovating our curriculum to build the professional skills our graduates will need to understand and apply sustainability in different settings, and delivering specialist research into carbon solutions and climate change adaptation.
