Clean Air Day- 20th June 2024
We asked people to be more conscious of their emissions. The following changes can all help make our air cleaner:
- Switch up your commute from your car to walking, cycling, scooting or using public transport
- Don't idle your engine! Most modern vehicles have fuel injection engines meaning they do not need warming up and are ready to go.
- Car Share - if you're often doing a journey to a similar location as someone else locally (e.g. work or school), consider car sharing. Have a look online for car sharers near you.
- Avoid burning. Domestic burning has increased over the last decade becoming the largest contributor to the UK's particulate matter emissions. If you must burn, use approved fuels such as wood with the 'Ready to Burn' logo.
- Improve the energy efficiency of your home will reduce pollution levels and help save you money on your bills
